Welcome to Spireblack #1 – the first issue of the community fanzine for the Spire: The City Must Fall TTRPG. Spire is a game of desperate revolutionaries fighting the oppressive status quo, and over the last few years, countless brave fools have done just that.

During their missions, they’ve encountered foes, friends, and bizarre features of the city of Spire, many of which have been made by game masters to dare and delight their players. This fanzine is a collation of over 90 pages of such creations by Spire fans in the RR&D Discord.

Within the pages are new locations, missions, and advances to use with the base game, providing options for both players and Game Masters – along with tables full of inspiration and occult Spire lore. This includes hidden faerie markets, drow divination techniques, and The Brotherhood of Just Horatio (containing just Horatio). In total, this includes:

  • 9 new Extra Advances, ranging from the technological Retroengineer to the professionally infuriating Irritant.
  • 5 Missions from the heights of Amaranth to the depths of the Vermissian vault.
  • 10 Guard Garrisons, 8 City Guilds, a market full of totally-not cursed treasures, and a full Divination system.
  • 15 different tables of city inspiration.

About Spire: The City Must Fall

You are a dark elf. Your home, the towering city of Spire, was occupied by the high elves two hundred years ago.

Now, you have joined a secret organisation known as the Ministry, a paramilitary cult with a single aim – to overthrow the cruel high elves and restore the drow as the rightful rulers of the city.

What – or who – will you sacrifice to achieve your aims? Will you evade the attention of the authorities, or end up shot in the street like so many before you?

You will need a copy of Spire: The City Must Fall to use this supplement.

We are making it available on our site as part of RR&D’s creator community programme: we take a small percentage of the price to cover hosting, and the original creators receive the rest. If you’d like to create your own works that are compatible with, or build on, our games, you can start with our community licence and join our Discord for more.
