Earth discovered alien life and joined their alliance of cultures just in time for the once-in-a-generation Intergalactic Games to begin. 

You are the athletes, diplomats, anthropologists and tacticians sent to understand these games, win them, and make friends doing it. 

Stardust Contenders has player-generated alien races, an event schedule that includes bar crawls and religious ceremonies alongside the games, and rules that focus on setting up a star contender to make the game-winning play.
