Ways & Means is the upcoming sourcebook for everyoneโ€™s favourite underground hubris simulator Heart: The City Beneath. Following on from the success of the corebook (seven Ennies!) and Gareth Hanrahanโ€™s epic adventure Dagger in the Heart, Ways & Means is one of those good old-fashioned sourcebooks with a load of stuff in it.

Weโ€™ve got three new classes (maybe more, if you play your cards* right), three new callings, and shedloads of gubbins, gewgaws, dirty tricks, illegal magic, curious weirdos, pathetic creatures, unreliable guns, etc, etc. (And the other half is all delves, adventures, inadvisable missions and disastrous plotlines to get I wrote a bunch of it myself, and then to help make the book more than several dozen pages about paintbrushes and drugs, we got some other people to help out.

We got Elaine โ€œSoulboundโ€ Lithgow. We got Chris โ€œBlood Witchโ€ Taylor. Weโ€™ve got Pam โ€œThese Feral Saintsโ€ Punzalan. Weโ€™ve got Eleanor โ€œDoctor Whoโ€ Hingley. Weโ€™ve got Thomas โ€œRascalโ€ Manuel. Weโ€™ve got Taylor โ€œDiana Jones Emerging Designerโ€ Navarro. Weโ€™ve got Finley โ€œHasnโ€™t Written Anything Youโ€™ve Heard Of Yet But Heโ€™s Got The Chopsโ€ Palaniki.

Oh! And weโ€™ve got Sar Cousins and Felix Miall both returning to do some drawings for us, and theyโ€™re great. Just have a look at our ongoing dev blog series for more.

Itโ€™s a good team. The book is mostly written and illustrated. Weโ€™ve just gotta make sure all the full stops are in the right places, get the grimy tragedy up by about 15%, convince Minerva to shoulder-throw the whole lot into layout and weโ€™ll be ready to go to print.
